Hello, pretty.

I’m back on “Automate the Boring Stuff with Python” as I introduced in my first blog post amongst my many reading materials.

I just completed a little project listed here (screen grab below):

The original stopwatch project code was this:

I edited the code to the below to fulfill the objective of the project:

My output was this:

And when I pasted to my email, I got this:

Pyperclip was a little tricky here as it kept copying only the last line of output (i.e. “Lap #19: 7.66 (0.44)”) to my email. It took me a bit of time to figure it out but worth it cause I’m so happy with the result (though I’m sure there’s a better way to code this)!

There are still days when I’m tempted to be lazy and do things like dragging Thomas to the couch to watch Netflix (and chill?) or play with Toby (our dog) all day or call my girlfriends to hang out.

Temptations are real.

And on those days, I’ll simply drag my ass into our (still amazing and motivating) office and force myself to sit in front of the computer to do something. Be it surfing Facebook, shopping for things we need (or I want) for our new home, reading the news, basically anything I can do on the computer just to stay at the computer. Then at some point, I’ll exhaust all options and ask myself what I should do next and at that point, coding will come to mind and I’ll naturally get on with it because I know that if I don’t, I’ll go to bed at night feeling like the guiltiest person in the entire universe.

So, woohoo! I can get a good night sleep today.

Edit – realized one of my codes is redundant so I’ve updated it below:Screen Shot 2017-09-25 at 8.00.24 PM.jpg
